Hold Times, Loops, Vets, and More Important Ride Updates!

Greetings from Ride Camp! As we finalize more 2023 Caja del Rio Endurance Ride details, there are a few things riders and prospective riders should take note of.

Early Entry Deadline

The deadline for the early entry discount is coming up fast! Don’t forget to get your entry and payment submitted (or postmarked) by May 13, 2023.

If you miss the deadline or do not wish to pay prior to ride day, please consider signing up online anyway so we know to expect you. This helps in planning and budgeting so we can provide the best experience possible on ride day.

Ride Vets

The same wonderful vets we had last year are returning for the 2023 ride. Dr. Larry Nolan will be our head vet, with Dr. Laura Blanton as our second vet.

Start Times, Hold Times, and Loops

Loops, mileages, and hold times are detailed below for all three rides (50-mile, 30-mile, and intro rides). Pulse criteria will be 60 bpm, subject to change if our vets deem it warranted due to external factors such as weather.

30-mile Limited Distance Ride

Introductory Ride

Out-Check at 1100 Well

Crew bags and gear for the 1100 Well vet check should be loaded left at the designated location in camp no later than 7:00 am on ride day.

There is plenty of room for crew to drive to the out-check. A higher clearance vehicle is recommended for the dips and ruts in Forest Road 24. The drive is about 20-30 minutes from camp, 5 miles north on FR 24.

  1. Thanks fer the update. Please send full size maps (i.e., indiv. PDFs)
when you have a chance. Are they on a repository somewhere?
I notice that you have reversed direction (CW vs CCW)of loops from last
year. Trying to confuse us? 😮
